______________________________________________________________________

Sometimes I wish my work was not such an open biography, but after 30 years of painting I have come to accept that my brush and color are my language. My life's chapters are painted through this series that spans the last 10 years, and at times they are raw and dark, or loose and fragmented, and other times are found in the stillness of a stunning moment that I try to capture.

That said, “these chapters” are not easily readable; hope and sorrow are juxtaposed. Beauty and darkness are juxtaposed. I have found myself and my art in this complexity of non duality and fought to find peace here. My works will often start with a specific place, sketches and photos, which ground me. Within that structure I am then free to wander through thought, emotion and to listen to the paint guide me in color, shaping or space. For my viewer my hope is that you are drawn into this emerging narrative, in its complexity, subtlety and peace and find echoes of your own story alongside mine.
